Highly recommended especially to pastors/elders, husbands and fathers
Watts definitely bleeds bibline (to quote what Spurgeon said of the Puritan tinker John Bunyan). Recently a group of us brother-pastors in the Chicago land area read through this book and discussed it. It was excellent and led to very profitable and practical discussions on prayer and ministry. Watts gives very helpful, biblically rooted insights on pastoral prayers on the Lord's Day, prayers in family worship and prayers on pastoral visits (to name but a few). I can safely speak for myself and these nearly twenty other brother pastors that we highly recommend the book especially to pastors/elders, husbands and fathers. Elders in training who are called on to prepare pastoral prayers will find much that is very helpful here and any pastor leading a prayer meeting or a husband or father leading family worship will as well. In particular Watts comments on types of prayer, examples of prayers, words or phrases to avoid, your voice, emotion and more will aid those who regularly pray publicly or lead prayer meetings in their local church. May God continue to use this book to His glory and may many more read it and be sharpened as we all were!
