Feasting with Christ: Meditations on the Lord's Supper (Beeke & Smalley)
John Willison (1680-1750) was one of the most outstanding Scottish evangelical preachers during the eighteenth century. He was a minister of the Church of Scotland, first in Brechin and then in Dundee. As an author of religious books he also became famous for his devotional works.
This book contains seventeen beautiful meditations on the sacrament of the Lord's Supper; nine are intended for use before the sacrament and eight for reflection afterwards. Willison also gives suggestions on making a personal covenant with God.
The contents of this book provide communicants with a great deal of material for reflection and prayer.
