Heady Stuff!!!
We are reading this slowly, carefully. This is more of a textbook than a light-bedtime-book. Our only regret is that it could have contained a chart of who was king over whom, when, and who was the Pope at that time. I made our own chart so we could follow, with notes regarding anti- or pro- Catholic or Protestant. We refer to our little chart often. The book is heavily detailed for the most part, then makes leaps the reader must note without warning. We are thoroughly enjoying this read, and keep a dictionary nearby. It is authentic, deep, and educational. Those with patience will certainly be rewarded.
