“There's something about writing out the word as we read in Deuteronomy. It penetrates the heart.” — Dr. Joel Beeke

In The Word New Testament Psalms and Proverbs

It I believe it is a good concept to not just hear and read, but to write the Word. It is a detail encouraging endeavor. The questions are good and thought provoking. A very nice looking set that could make a good family heirloom, Gold from God is much better than silver from auntie.

Possibly One of the Most Calming, Slowing Exercises I have undertaken.

First off, congratulations for a job well done to the authors and publishers (including to the Reformed Heritage Bible's teams for the excerpts from their works). One may be tempted to think, "How much work does it really take to make a bunch of blank lines for writing?" But I'm here to tell you that the thought and effort is evident. The lines given for each verse to write out, are thoughtfully spaced in such a way that there will be sufficient space to write out the verse (with conscientiousness given to handwriting size on the writer's part) leading to less blank space between shorter verses and the next, and ample space to write for longer passages. The covers and their unique designs are thoughtful, making it look very much worth the money, and looking nice on the bookshelf while awaiting their turn to be journaled through. I found the questions engaging (despite the fact that I'm not strictly Reformed [4 point Calvinist, non-replacement, and credobaptisr, myself], but anyone of the faith can benefit from being in the word, and engaging with the text). I sincerely hope for a reprint so that they may be available to gift to loved ones. And a version for at least the Pentateuch would be awesome to carry on the legacy of the Kings of Israel to write out the law of the Lord and see what that entails first hand would truly be special (and a continuation throughout the old testament would be quite beneficial to follow the unfolding salvation plan of God). Given the short turnaround to a sell out of the series, I hope the team can see a clear appreciation of their efforts and a desire for more entries. A brewing thought is to purchase more once completed to experience journaling through multiple translations.
