Stopped Work? Start Living! (Howat)
Western society is undergoing a transformation. With more and more of us living into our eighties and nineties, elderly and retired people constitute a more significant sector of the population than ever before. For many, retirement is looked upon as an opportunity to take up residence at the golf club, however, for the Christian it can offer so much more!
With a wealth of experience and wisdom many Christians find retirement gives the opportunity to serve God in new and different ways. 'God opens unexpected doors' tells the story of retirees who, having left the workplace behind them, took up the challenge of further Christian service. These inspirational examples show us that whilst others may view retirement as a time to wind down, we as Christians should view it as a new opportunity to serve the Lord Jesus.
