기독교적 삶의 아름다움과 영광 (개혁된 실천 시리즈) The Beauty and Glory of Christian Living (Beeke, ed.)

먼저 죄를 죽이고 영의 생각을 실천하는 존 오웬의 방법론을 놀랍게 요약해서 엑기스를 전달해주면서 시작한 후 은혜의 수단 활용법으로 1부를 마친다. 1부에서 죄를 죽이고 영의 생각을 실천하고 은혜의 수단을 활용하는 기초를 닦은 후 2부에서는 실제 삶의 영역에 대해 얘기한다. 즉, 가정생활, 직장생활, 전도하는 생활에 대해 말해준다. 한 챕터로 한 주제를 다룬다고 절대 허투루 다루지 않는다. 주로 청교도들의 글에서 중요한 포인트들을 최대한 끌어내서 핵심 주제들을 짚어준다. 예를 들어 조엘 비키 박사는 윌리엄 가우지의 책에 나오는 그리스도인의 가정생활의 중요한 포인트들을 40페이지 가까운 지면을 할애해서 설명한다. 마지막으로 3부에서는 이 땅의 현실에서 처하는 고난과 적대적 문화, 성적으로 문란한 문화 등에 어떻게 대응하면서 영광스러운 그리스도인의 삶을 살아가야 할 것인지 조언한다.

한 권으로 영광스럽고 아름다운 그리스도인의 삶의 청사진을 맛보고 싶으면 이 책을 읽으면 된다. 한 권으로 내면적 경건생활부터 가정, 직장, 전도하는 삶, 그리고 이 땅의 적대적 환경에 대응하며 살아가는 삶에 대해 정확한 성경적 원칙을 배우고 싶다면 이 책을 읽으면 된다.

It then explores how our Christian lives branch out to influence our families, our workplaces, and the world.
