Bookstore Assistant 

Employee Status: Part-time (some Saturdays may be required)

Hourly Rate: $16+/hr

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

This is an on-site position; remote work is not available. Applicants must already live within commuting distance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver warm, knowledgeable customer service in person, by phone, and email
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Build genuine relationships with customers, local pastors, and ministry partners
  • Develop a growing knowledge of Reformed and Puritan authors, theology, and literature
  • to confidently recommend titles
  • Create attractive, thematic merchandise displays that highlight new releases and key
  • doctrinal works
  • Maintain precise inventory counts and locations using our system
  • Balance cash drawers, prepare secure deposits, and follow cash-handling procedures
  • Keep the bookstore and café areas clean, organized, and welcoming at all times
  • Prepare coffee and specialty drinks while strictly adhering to health department food-
  • safety standards and best practices
  • Assist the marketing team with bookstore-specific social media content (photos, short
  • videos, featured titles)
  • Help staff special events, conferences, and off-site book tables as scheduled

Qualifications

  • Previous retail, bookstore, or hospitality experience strongly preferred
  • Naturally friendly, patient, and engaging with customers of all ages
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced
  • environment
  • Passion for Reformed theology and a heartfelt desire to place sound Christian books into
  • the hands of believers for their growth and God’s glory

Reformation Heritage Books (RHB) is a Reformed publisher and distributor dedicated to advancing the gospel for the conversion of unbelievers and the equipping of the saints for faithful service to Christ and His church. We publish and distribute materials that align with Scripture and adhere to the core doctrines expressed in the Ecumenical Creeds and the Reformed confessions found in the Three Forms of Unity (the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort) as well as the Westminster Standards.

Fulfillment Associate

Employee Status: Part-time (some Saturdays may be required)

Hourly Rate: $17+/hr

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

This is an on-site position; remote work is not available. Applicants must already live within commuting distance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately picking and verifying customer orders based on pick invoices
  • Packing, weighing, and labeling shipments for prompt delivery
  • Safely handling and moving boxes, including using equipment for larger shipments
  • Shipping orders to customers and events, and providing tracking information
  • Engaging with carriers such as USPS, FedEx, and UPS
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Supporting other departments and performing additional tasks as assigned

    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
    • The ability to multitask, solve problems, and work both independently and collaboratively

    • Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift boxes up to 50 lbs

        Conference Assistant

        Employee Status: Independent Contractor, Seasonal

        Daily Rate: $200 + Conference Registration 

        Location: Various U.S. Locations

        Event Season

          • January–May (peak: March–April)
          • August–November (peak: October)
        • Assignments offered per event; additional opportunities may be available as schedules change

        What You’ll Do

        • Represent RHB and share new releases, ministry goals, and resources
        • Assist Dr. Beeke in recommending books to attendees
        • Strike up warm, personable conversations with attendees, recommend books that suit their needs, and build rapport
        • Operate the bookstore: checkout, process payments, and collect attendee info accurately
        • Help with event setup, teardown, and logistics
        • Maintain displays and keep the tables well-stocked
        • Travel independently and submit receipts for reimbursement and expense tracking

          Who We’re Looking For

          • Seminary students or recent grads with working knowledge of Reformed theology, church history, and Reformed authors
          • Strong interpersonal skills; able to engage attendees in friendly, thoughtful conversation
          • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for up to 2 hours
          • Resilient to long days and adjusting to different time zones
          • Detail-oriented, reliable, and responsible
          • Previous event or customer-facing experience preferred

          Compensation & Perks

          • $200 per day for all travel and work days
          • Free event registration (attend sessions as a vendor!)
          • Reimbursement for travel & living expenses: flights, lodging, meals, car rental
          • Payment & reimbursement issued 2-3 weeks after receipts & invoice are submitted
          • Flexible schedule: choose assigned events and pick up additional opportunities

          Please Note: This position is structured as an independent contractor (1099) engagement. Contractors are not employees and are not eligible for employee benefits.
