Born in 1881 in Baltimore, Maryland, John Gresham Machen developed a personal faith in Jesus as a youth, without being able to recall a single day that he didn’t trust in the Lord. He received his in-depth education at Johns Hopkins University, Princeton University, Princeton Theological Seminary, the University of Marburg and the University of Göttingen. He taught at Princeton Seminary, and helped to found Westminster Theological Seminary and the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. J.
